Classic Blackjack is played with one standard deck of 52 playing cards that is shuffled before each game.

The aim is to beat the Dealer's hand by either getting a better hand, without exceeding 21, or by the Dealer's hand going Bust. In Classic Blackjack, you can only bet one hand at a time.

Note:
Blackjack is when your hand contains an Ace and a card with a value of ten. It is the strongest hand in Blackjack, and automatically Stands. It cannot be beaten, only matched.

Important:
Malfunctions void all plays and pays.

Payout Schedule

Free Download Gambling Sofware / Scratch Card
Winning hands in Classic Blackjack pay out as follows:
  • If you win with a Blackjack you are paid out at odds of 3:2 on your original bet.

    Example:

  1. You bet 20 credits and win with a Blackjack. You win 30 credits plus your original bet amount. So, your total win amount is 30 credits + 20 credits = 50 credits.

Win Formula

Bet

20 Credits

Win

One and a half times your original bet amount, plus your original bet.

Calculation

3 / 2 = 1 ½ x 20 original bet credits = 30 credits + 20 original bet credits = 50 credits

Note:
One and a half is calculated by dividing 3 by 2.

  • If you have a winning hand but not a Blackjack, you are paid out at odds of 1:1 on your original bet.

    Example:

  1. You bet 10 credits and win a hand. You win 10 credits plus your original bet amount. So, your total win amount is 10 credits + 10 credits = 20 credits.

Win Formula

Bet

10 Credits

Win

One times your original bet amount, plus your original bet.

Calculation

1 / 1 = 1 x 10 original bet credits = 10 credits + 10 original bet credits = 20 credits

Note:
One is calculated by dividing 1 by 1.

  • If you lose against a Dealer's Blackjack and have taken Insurance, you are paid out at odds of 2:1 on your Insurance bet.

    Example:
  1. You bet 10 credits and take Insurance on the Dealer getting a Blackjack. Your Insurance bet costs half your original bet amount, so your Insurance bet is 5 credits. The Dealer wins with a Blackjack.

You receive 10 credits from your Insurance bet, as an Insurance bet pays out at odds of 2:1, plus your original Insurance bet amount. You lose your original bet amount.

So, your total payout amount is 5 Insurance bet credits + 10 credits = 15 credits.

Win Formula

Insurance Bet

5 Credits
Payout Two times Insurance bet amount plus original Insurance bet amount.

Calculation

2 / 1 = 2 x 5 Insurance bet credits = 10 credits + 5 Insurance bet credits = 15 credits

Note:
Two is calculated by dividing 2 by 1.

Playing Classic Blackjack

To play a game of Blackjack, do the following:
  1. Click the Increase (+) or Decrease (-) button to select the amount you want to bet.

  2. Click the Deal button. A hand of two cards is dealt to you, and one card is dealt to the Dealer.

  3. Depending on the cards you are dealt and the Game Rules, different play options are available. You can perform more than one option, or repeat one option, depending on the stage of the game. The play options are:
  • Hit
Click the Hit button. You are dealt one card.

    Example:
If you have a hand under the value of 21 and want another card, use the Hit option. The Dealer deals you another card from the deck.

  • Stand
Click the Stand button. This ends the play of this hand.

    Example:
If you think you have a good enough hand, use the Stand option. You do not receive more cards.

  • Split
Click the Split button. Your hand is divided into two separate hands and a new card is dealt to each hand. You can Split a maximum of once per hand. This equals two hands.

    Example:
If you are dealt two cards with the same Denomination, such as two Queens, or two Fours, you can use the Split option. You split the two cards into two separate hands.

  • Double Down
Click the Double button. A side bet equal to your original bet is placed on the table. You are dealt one card and your hand automatically Stands.

    Example:
If you have a hand that you think can beat the Dealer’s hand, you can double your bet by using the Double Down option. You can Double Down when your hand has a value of 9, 10 or 11. A side bet is placed that your hand will beat the Dealer’s hand. Only one more card is dealt.

  • Take Insurance
Click the Insure button. An Insurance bet, equal to half your original bet, is placed on the table.

    Example:
If the Dealer’s face-up card is an Ace, you are given the option to take Insurance. You take Insurance against the Dealer getting a Blackjack. An Insurance bet is placed on the table.

Note:

  • If a button is gray, that option is not available according to the Game Rules.
  • For more information on these options and other Classic Blackjack terms, see the Terms section.
  1. Once you have completed your play options, your hand and the Dealer’s hand are compared. The hand with the highest value wins and any winnings are paid.

21

This is when the value of the cards dealt equal 21, but is not a Blackjack.

Example:

  1. Nine of Spades, a Four of Diamonds and an Eight of Clubs equals 21.

Note:
Blackjack always beats a hand with a value of 21.

Blackjack

This is when your hand contains an Ace and a card with a value of 10. It is the strongest hand, and automatically Stands. It cannot be beaten, only matched.

Bust

If your hand value exceeds 21, your hand is bust. The hand is over and you lose your bet.

Denomination

The face value on the cards, Ace, King, Queen, Jack and from 2 to 10.

Note:
A Jack, Queen or King have the value of 10, and the Ace has the value of either 1 or 11.

Double Down

This is a side bet that your hand will beat the Dealer’s with only one more card drawn. You can Double Down when your hand has a value of 9, 10 or 11. You are dealt one card. Doubling costs the same as your original bet. If you win you are paid double your total bet. This win amount is equal to four times your original bet.

Note:
You cannot Double Down after a Split.

Hit

This is when you request another card because your hand is not strong enough to beat the Dealer’s hand. You are dealt one card.

Insurance

This is a side bet against the possibility of the Dealer getting Blackjack. You can take Insurance if the Dealer’s first card is an Ace. Insurance costs half your original bet.

Push

This is when your hand and the Dealer’s hand tie. You are paid your original bet.

Split

You can split two cards with the same Denomination, such as two Queens, or two Fours. Your hand is divided into two separate hands and a bet equal to your original bet is placed on the second hand. Therefore, your bet is doubled. A new card is dealt to each hand.

Note:
You can Split a maximum of once per hand. This equals two hands.

Stand

This is when you are satisfied with the value of your hand and do not want to draw any more cards. This ends the play of your hand. The Dealer plays their hand and both hands are compared.

Value

Value refers to the numerical value of a card. Jack, Queen and King have the value of 10. The Ace card has a value of either 1 or 11.
